On the last page of this letter, in the listing of “Malbone Births”, John names Charles Malbone (1755) and Jerusha (1747.) These individuals are both the paternal and the maternal grandparents of John Solomon Malbone (1846-1940.)  On this same page, John identifies his maternal grandparents, John Malbone (1796-1868) and Eleanor [Preston] Malbone (1802-1883); they are the parents of Jerusha [Malbone] Malbone (1820-1908); they are buried at the Malbone Cemetery in Wilmington, Essex County, New York.

The name of John’s paternal grandfather is not included among those listed in the “Malbone Births” section of the letter; however, in the body of his letter John states that his grandfather, Solomon Malbone, went west and married at Franklin County, Ohio, which is the place where his son, Solomon Martin Malbone (1819-1903,) was born. Solomon Martin Malbone, John Solomon Malbone’s father, is buried at Lakeview Cemetery, in South Haven, Michigan, along with his wife, Jerusha, and his sons, John Solomon, Harry Harwood, and Charles Lucius Grant Malbone.

Unfortunately, John does not mention the name of his paternal grandmother in this letter, but her maiden name was Priscilla Delano.  Priscilla (1791) married (1) Vinal Soule, and later, on 30 Apr 1818, at Franklin Co., Ohio, she married John's paternal grandfather, Solomon Malbone (1794 - 1819). After Solomon's death Priscilla Malbone married (3) Tracy Wilcox.  Both Solomon Malbone (1794-1819) and Tracy Wilcox (1790 – 1841) are buried at Kempton Cemetery in Franklin County, Ohio.
